Has reservations early Friday night. Was sat immediately. Our server was great. The perfect blend of attentive without being over bearing. Friendly. Welcoming. We got the lamb dumplings and the calamari. The calamari was super original. Light airy hot crunchy with a touch of heat. My only wish is the sauce - amazing - was on the side as my the calamari got a bit soggy in that spot. The lamb dumplings were phenomenal, the intoxicating smell when they lifted the cloche made my mouth water. The flavors flirted with perfection I just wish the dumpling dough was thinner. For our main dish we got the pork jowl and the ribeye. The pork jowl had good flavor and was amazingly but lacked texture. The seeds on top were not enough. The ribeye was cooked very well and didn't have a ton of excess fat on it. The scallops that accompanied the dish were cold and polenta a touch grainy.

Been eyeing this place for a while and finally got to try with a group of 4 celebrating a friend's birthday. We came on a Saturday night for dinner with reservation made a few days in advance. We arrived a little past 7 and were seated right away. First impression, I love the ambiance of their dining room, dim lighting, bar top, and cute table decor. For appetizer, we ordered the salmon skin tacos, steak tartare, and charcuterie board. Though the charcuterie board was generic, the steak tartare and salmon skin tacos were delicious. For our entrees we had the short rib, flank steak, and duck confit (dinner special). The short rib came with a side of kimchi fried rice. I loved the tenderness of the meat and it was paired great with the acidic and chewy texture of the kimchi fried rice. The flank steak was delicious - came with a few sea scallops and a side of mashed potatoes. The duck confit was plated on a bed of flavorful couscous. I appreciate this dish and its fullness of flavor, just not to my personal taste. Overall, very much enjoyed dining here. This place definitely emphasizes the creative aspect of dining. Their dishes are unique, fun, and a well mixture of different cuisines.

If you go - must have the French onion soup!!! We have been wanting to hit this local spot for a while. Vibe wise the decor is gorgeous. Mood lighting, really cute, but the music selection that night was off. Crank that (superman that hoe) was an interesting selection along with some other jams. I don't mind that in my car or in a club but not a higher end restaurant please. The food was really good. Took too long to come with no real explanation. We had our 4 year old with us and would have loved to feed him so he could settle down. Our server was really sweet. We were there for my wife's birthday. It was a nice enough dinner but could have easily been 5 stars if the food came timely and the music wasn't so ratchet. Would give it another shot. The drinks were fantastic!

The Black Sheep is a neighborhood Modern Vietnamese/American Restaurant by well seasoned chef Jamie Tran who has worked under some of Las Vegas's finest chefs and who also was a competitor on the Bravo TV Show Top Chef. Many of the dishes are amazing and are unique to this restaurant. We always love the salmon skin tacos, The Hamachi so far has also been unusually delicious. The chef's signature dish is the completely edible crispy trout. I had it four times out of my last five visits. Only the first two times was it crispy all over. The last time it didn't have any crisp at all...This time only a couple bites were crispy. (See pictures you can see they look completely different). I have recommended this restaurant to many people but now I have to add that the trout hasn't been crispy lately.
